I found this thought-provoking video that very aptly highlights one of issues modern education encounters. The current system of education evolved in the early 19th century, coinciding with the emergence of industry as a driving economic force. In the past two decades technology adoption, information assessment and assimilation, creative license and artistic ingenuity have become come of the key skills for success. Clearly, our education system seems to be playing catch-up.
