From Good to Outstanding

A school is much more than the sum total of its buildings, playgrounds, teachers and students.

In an institution of learning, especially one that works with children, students’ learning experience is designed, contextualised and delivered by teachers. Buildings, playgrounds and teaching aids are passive assets, whose value as tools for learning is determined by the capabilities of the teachers. Good teachers exponentially enhance the value of a school’s physical infrastructure.

We believe that teachers are the primary asset of any school and the key differentiator between a mediocre and an outstanding school.

Not all teachers contribute to maximizing all students’ learning. Timely diagnosis on how teachers can become more effective and equipping them with the tools to do so, can reap rich dividends for the school.

Teachers, like everyone else, need assistance honing and polishing their skills. Schools take great care in hiring the best teachers, but so often are unable to get the best out of these carefully selected human resources. Some instances of mismatch between potential and performance are:

  • Teachers with an excellent track record in one setting are not similarly effective in a new one
  • Teachers unable to connect with some of their students
  • Good teachers are unable to adopt and adapt contemporary / more effective teaching learning strategies

In many cases, teachers just require a little help and at Art of Learning we provide that assistance.

How can we help improve the skills of your teachers?

We help transform your teachers from being just “good teachers” to becoming “outstanding teachers”.

In our “Good to Outstanding” solutions, our experts closely observe teachers in classroom settings, based on which we provide detailed feedback on strategies for becoming more effective. Our methodology aims at making teachers introspective and reflective in objectively assessing their work and in empowering them as learners. In these objective-driven and result-oriented, reflective sessions with teachers, we focus on enhancing their skills in lesson planning, delivery, students’ engagement and participation, assessment of learning and reflection and, generally, working smart as they work hard.
